The sequence matters. You batch during planning (weekly review or daily planning), then single-task within each batch. Monday morning is the communications batch: all emails and messages handled in one block, single-tasked through in sequence. Tuesday morning is the deep work batch: the one strategic task that needs your best concentration, protected from anything else.

The result is that context-switching is designed out of the day rather than resisted moment by moment.
